More of Matthew Harding ‘s work at the Curtin Shopping centre, where he designed seating, paving, play-sculpture, textile and metal banners, mosaics, lighting, bin surrounds and drain grates on the theme of ‘Birds’. This photo was taken to trap the effect of dappled autumn light, travelling at about 60 degrees to the horizontal toward the camera and through the moulting trees in the courtyard centre. Forgive my imagination, but I like the way the tiny prints track toward the bird like fallen leaf and lead the eye to a hint of Matt’s brass feather motif in an adjacent paver. No tricks at 39mm focal length, F8, 1/10 at ISO200.
