Shot Notes
Some poets say that nature is an angel’s favourite hiding place. They speak of an angel’s breath in a gentle breeze, of teardrops in the falling rain, of whispers in the rustle of leaves. This is a neat way to cover off the notion of guardian angels without subscribing to spirituality. This little wooden angel lurks among a collection of objects which have drifted to the mantelpiece from places far away. The shell a birthday present from villagers in the Loyalty Islands, an incense burner and wooden storage jar from Indonesia and some small boomerangs from Mornington Island. I can’t remember when or from where the angel arrived? This shot was taken with available light (mainly sunshine, through a window to the left) using the pinhole setting at 19mm, f4 at 1/120 at iso 1600. The PEN once again excels at close range with exceptional colour and detail. A very happy snap. No pain, no grain!
